The problem with healthcare in America…

Writer: Marie MFTMarie MFT

Well…the problem is so many people can’t access it. But you’re here for the longer version right?

So many people struggle to access the support they need across a range of different issues and their related services. Whether financially, geographically, or resource wise in general (and without getting into an argument about WHY access is inhibited), let’s all at least agree that this is a common issue for a lotttt of folks. I mention healthcare in the title of this post, but I really want to broaden the topic to professional services in general.

This difficulty to access causes a wealth of people to bargain with which of their needs to meet (and how well to get them met-think quality of services like a quick fix vs the actual solution) in a given pay period or month. Many other folks engage in creative ways to try and improve different areas of their lives that they can’t access professional support for help with.

Though prioritization and creativity have their place, very real consequences in the lives of everyday people and industries across the nation are created when people struggle with access barriers.

Industries are undercut, ‘back door’ or black market spaces surge in customers, and everyday people find themselves caught between a rock and hard place.

I think this issue is part of the reason the holiday season, including Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and so forth are such a big deal. It’s a time of year where industries are competing with each other to offer customers and potential buyers financial incentives to entice them to shop and purchase. The expectation to save is the norm around this time, and it creates an environment in which what the customer or client wanted/needed is more financially accessible.

Our Self Care SOS Recovery Program helps codependent women break up with the toxic relationship they have with themselves, showing them how to honor their needs and desires to they can experience and maintain the love and respect they crave in their everyday lives.

Our Mental Illness Recovery In Christ program shows clients how to integrate into the foundation of their faith evidence-based clinical knowledge, skills, and tools to support them in mastering (vs accepting an impaired way of living) their mental health journey in accordance with their beliefs rather than in opposition to them.

If either of these programs sound just like what you’ve been looking for, visit our website where you’ll find a referral form at the very bottom of any page that you can quickly submit so that we can give you more information and answer any questions you may have!
